16 Oct Road Map for October: Freshmen
I hope your freshman year is going well! Now that you’re a couple months into high school, this is a good time to reflect on how you’re adjusting. Have you developed routines that help you stay on top of your schoolwork? Are you feeling comfortable with your classes and the expectations of your teachers? Developing good study habits now and learning when and how to ask for help will serve you well throughout high school.
I also hope you’re taking advantage of the opportunities that high school offers outside the classroom. Are you participating in clubs, sports, or other activities? Have you discovered anything new that interests you? I encourage freshmen to explore a variety of options, even if that means stepping outside your comfort zone. Attending a club meeting or trying a new activity doesn’t mean you have to make a long-term commitment.
Remember, the most important goal for freshman year is to build a strong foundation for a great high school experience. Focus on doing well in your classes, building relationships with teachers, spending time with friends, and discovering what you enjoy. You don’t need to have your future figured out yet!
