Road Map for July: Class of 2021

I hope you’re having a wonderful summer break.  Now that you’ve had some time to reflect on your school year, what went well in 9th grade, and what would you like to change in 10th grade? As you think about goals for 2018-19, make them “SMART” goals, which stands for specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timebound.  If improving your study skills is on your list, check out this monthly workshop offered by Smith Rivas this school year at the Hill Center.

Are you taking a family vacation this summer? Consider touring a college in the place you’re visiting.  Even if you haven’t thought much about college yet, this is a way to learn about what’s out there and criteria you might be looking for in your search: how far from home you’ll want to be, what size college might be a good fit for you, and whether you’d like to be in or near a city or prefer a more rural setting.
