13 May Road Map for May: Seniors
Congratulations to all the seniors who have finalized their college decisions! It’s an exciting moment as you sport your college gear, register for orientation, and dream about the next four years. I hope you’re soaking up all the fun of this season. But don’t lose sight of the finish line in all the excitement. Your college will receive a final transcript, and you want it to reflect your best work. AP and IB exams, finals, and end-of-year assignments all help prepare you for the academic expectations of college.
If your college plans aren’t set yet, remember that there are over 300 colleges and universities that are still taking applications for the fall, and there may be a great fit out there for you. Or if a gap year feels like the right move, I’d be happy to help you make a plan.
Now’s also a good time to start “adulting”: schedule medical appointments, complete necessary forms, set up a bank account, and register to vote. You might even want to create a LinkedIn profile based on your activities list and connect with mentors and peers you’ve met along the way.
These last few weeks of high school can feel both joyful and bittersweet. As you celebrate all you’ve accomplished, take a moment to appreciate the people and experiences that helped you get here. You’re about to begin a whole new chapter—and I’m so excited for what’s ahead.
