13 May Road Map for May: Freshmen
As your first year of high school winds down, you’re in the homestretch—and it’s time to finish strong. Final exams and last-term grades offer a great opportunity to boost your GPA, so make a plan now to set yourself up for success. Start by checking in with each of your teachers to find out what to expect on exams and how best to prepare. Then create a weekly study schedule based on your upcoming assignments and other commitments. Be sure to take advantage of any review opportunities your teachers offer, and don’t be afraid to ask for extra help if you need it. Studying with a friend can also help keep you on track, and sharing your strengths with each other can make review sessions more effective (and more fun).
Once finals are behind you, turn your attention to summer. In addition to simply taking a break, volunteering, working, or finding ways to pursue your academic interests and hobbies can be rewarding ways to spend your time off. Whatever you choose, make it meaningful and enjoy the chance to recharge before sophomore year.
