07 Aug Road Map for August: Class of 2022
Are you ready for high school? If you have the opportunity to attend an orientation, that’s a great first step. Some other ideas to get off to a strong start are to familiarize yourself with your school’s policies and routines. It may seem boring, but reviewing the school handbook will ensure you understand the expectations.
Beyond that, think about your hopes for the year and what you can do on a daily or weekly basis to move toward achieving those goals. Time management is a hot topic for high school students, so consider tracking your time for a week. There are apps for this, such as Toggl and others; most are designed for adults to keep track of time they spend on work, but you can make your own categories like homework, sports, friends and family, screen time, sleep, etc. Once you have some data, think about whether you’re spending your time the way you want to be. If the answer is no, there’s your first goal!
