03 Aug Road Map for August: Class of 2020
As this upside-down year continues, many of you are making last-minute changes to your plans as colleges scramble to finalize theirs. Many schools that had announced that they’d reopen are reversing course, and those that are moving ahead are implementing new policies and procedures that will make campus life look very different. My best advice for those of you who are starting classes in the next few weeks is to take care of yourself as best you can and remember that this too shall pass. It may take until next fall (though I hope it doesn’t) but eventually in-person school and a normal campus experience will happen. Also remember that everyone attending your college is in the same boat, so you’re not missing anything that everyone else is doing without you.
Like colleges, gap year programs are also revisiting their plans and procedures. While many are proceeding virtually, a few are going ahead with hybrid or in-person activities. If you are considering a gap year or semester and would like guidance on finding a great fit program, contact me for a consultation.
This is my last update for the Class of 2020, but I hope you’ll check in with me during the school year. I’d love to hear from you about your experience and how your campus is handling things as circumstances continue to change. Please feel free to email me anytime at [email protected].
