Road Map for November: Freshmen

Have you gotten your first high school report card yet? Were you happy with your grades? This first marking period is an important opportunity to connect with your teachers for feedback. Here are some questions to ask:

  • What do you see as my strengths in your class?
  • What areas do you suggest I work on during the next few months?
  • What are the best ways to study for your class?

This is also a good time to set goals for the next grading period. I recommend focusing on your actions, which you can control, rather than focusing on outcomes without the steps you’ll take to make them happen. For example, rather than setting a goal of bringing a grade up from a C to an A, your goal could be completing all assignments on time and preparing for the week every Sunday by reviewing your notes from the previous week.
