Road Map for May: Sophomores

Good luck to those of you who are in the midst of AP exams and gearing up for finals. This is the time of year where stepping up your studying can have double the impact, since it will strengthen both your final term grade and your exam grade. Make a study plan that you can stick to, and connect with your teachers or consider a tutor or other source of support if you need extra help in a particular class.  And don’t let stress about exams lead to procrastination. The best way to prepare is to get started now.

I also want to remind you that this is a good time to fit in a campus visit before college students finish the semester and head home.  Summer visits are worthwhile too, but the ideal campus visit is one where you get to see what it’s like on a typical day.  Click here for an updated list of tips on making the most of your visits. And if you’re considering individual advising, this is the perfect time to get started. The summer allows for planning ahead and taking some opportunities to get a jump on your junior year, which can make the college admissions process less stressful and more fun.  I’d love to hear from you and talk about how I can be helpful at this exciting time!
