Road Map for July: Class of 2023

This is my first message to the Class of 2023.  Thanks for reading!

Now that you’ve had a little time to regroup from the school year, take some time to reflect on your middle school experience as you look ahead to high school.  What went well, and what would you like to change?  The summer is a great time to think about some goals to set for your freshman year.  Almost every student can benefit from improved study skills, so if you’re in the DC area, save the date for one of these August events offered by study skills expert Paul Rivas.  He loves teaching kids how to get better grades in less time!

Of course you’ll want to set academic goals, but include other things too.  Think about activities you’ve participated in that you’d like to continue with, and new ones that will be available.  Are there sports you’ll be able to try or clubs you haven’t had the chance to join before?  Your high school experience will be more than just your classes, so get ready to take advantage of some of the new opportunities that will be open to you.
