18 Jul Road Map for July: Class of 2020
To have a less-stressful writing process and a better product, get started this summer on your personal statement and school-specific essays. Claster Educational Services is here for you, with both one-on-one essay support and group sessions available to help you get a running start.
• For individual advising on essays (or applications, standardized testing and college lists), email me to schedule your first appointment as part of a comprehensive package or at the hourly consulting rate.
• If you have a group of 2-12 students, Claster Educational Services is offering two-part essay workshops this summer for $150 per student. Click here to schedule an in-person group session that covers how essays are used in the application process, guidance on choosing topics, writing tips for personal statements and school-specific essays and Dos and Don’ts. Then, each student will schedule a one-on-one follow-up session focused on their unique needs, whether it’s revising the personal statement, brainstorming for school-specific questions, crafting a “why” or “fit” essay, or a final proofread. Follow-up sessions usually take place online using Skype or Zoom.
In addition to writing essays, you should be working on your Common Application and/or Coalition Application, and any others you know you’ll need to complete. The Coalition App has already opened for the Class of 2020 application cycle, but please note that the Common App will be offline from July 28 until its new application opens on August 1.
