07 Mar Road Map for March: Sophomores
Tenth grade is the perfect time to explore colleges, and meeting with admissions representatives locally is a great way to start. There are a couple of college fairs coming up in Maryland and one in Northern Virginia in the next few weeks, and college representatives are also making the rounds at high schools while they are in town for these events. Some schools limit these meetings to 11th and 12th graders but if your school allows 10th graders to attend, check the visit schedule and see if there are any reps coming from colleges you’re interested in learning more about.
How are your classes going? If you need a boost in your academics or just want to be more efficient with your homework, check out this event in April with study skills expert Paul Rivas. Paul’s events often sell out, so if the workshop is full you can also check out Paul’s book, or his complete in-person or online courses.
To learn more about what to expect and focus on as you look ahead to junior year, I hope you’ll join me for College Admissions: A Road Map for 9th and 10th Grade Students on March 22. I’ll discuss what’s coming up, how to prioritize and ways use the next few months to keep your workload manageable later. (I’m also available for individual consultations in person or online; email me for details.)
