03 Aug Road Map for August: Class of 2027
You’re already halfway through high school—and the second half can go by even faster. Junior year is often described as the most demanding, so make the most of the time you have left this summer. A few smart moves before school starts can make the rest of the year less stressful.
First, if you haven’t already, take a diagnostic SAT and ACT to pick a test and map out your testing plan. If you feel you have enough time to prepare, you might consider taking a first exam in the fall or winter if you know spring will be busy.
Second, visit a couple of colleges before summer ends. Many campuses will be back in session while your high school is still on break, making this a great opportunity to see schools in action. Use your impressions to begin identifying key criteria. Or if you’ve already got an idea of what you’re looking for, you might be ready to start choosing schools for your college list. Then check your high school calendar for dates when you can tour campuses during the fall semester. You don’t necessarily have to book tours just yet, but at least mark them on your calendar.
Junior year will be busy, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. A bit of planning now can help you walk into fall with clarity and confidence. If you’d like individual support with testing, campus visits, or other college admissions guidance, I hope you’ll get in touch!
