Road Map for October: Seniors

Best of luck to those of you taking the SAT this week at DC public and charter schools.  Before you send your scores, check Compass Prep’s list of colleges that accept self-reported test scores.  Don’t pay for official score reports if they’re not required!

The FAFSA and CSS Profile are now available, so work with your parents to complete these forms.  Even if you don’t expect to be eligible for need-based aid, the FAFSA is required for many state aid programs, including DC TAG, as well as access to federal student loans.  Some schools also require these forms to consider you for merit aid, so I recommend that all students complete them regardless of their financial situation.

As we approach the first Early Action and Early Decision deadlines, I am continuing to enroll new students on an hourly or comprehensive basis.  If you need advice on essays, guidance on score reporting strategy, a review of your Common App or Coalition App, or a second opinion on your college list, contact me for an appointment.
