Road Map for December: Juniors

With your PSAT scores in hand, your next step is to take a practice ACT, compare scores, and develop a testing plan.  Many test prep companies offer free diagnostic tests as part of their marketing outreach, and you can also print a full practice test here.  A complete testing plan will include the exams you plan to take (including SAT subject tests for some students), dates and a plan for prep. As finals approach on college campuses, the fall visit season is winding down.  This is the time to start arranging visits for the spring semester.  Your parents will need to plan ahead for time off from work, and you’ll want to work around your school schedule, standardized tests, and activities as much as possible.  DCPS students have a couple of long weekends coming up after winter break, which are valuable opportunities to tour and sit in on college classes without missing those of your own. Be aware that if you’ll be visiting during spring break tour schedules can fill up quickly, so start planning now.
